Get Your Ads To "Stick" On Craigslist

Craigslist receives over 9 billion visitors every month. Over the years savvy Internet Marketers have flocked to Craigslist to market all types of products and services and have made a lot of money in the process.

There are a number of articles available to show you how to use Craigslist. We will not go into that in this article. The purpose of this article is to share with you how to get your Craigslist ad to "stick".

Tips To Getting Your Ad To "Stick" On Craigslist

Tip #1

You want to make sure to include "http://" when you are adding a link to your ads. This will help you to get indexed in the search engines.

Tip #2

The San Francisco area of Craigslist is the most popular area to post ads and the search engines love this area. Posting in San Francisco may get your ads indexed in the search engines (more traffic for you!)

Tip #3

There are a few areas on Craigslist that have become over saturated. Marketing on Craigslist will require you to become creative.

Instead of posting your product or service in one area try to think of something you can give away for free like an audio, E-book or free consultation service and post in "Free", "Community" or the "For Sale" areas of Craigslist.

Also, don't limit yourself to just those areas. Craigslist is also a community forum. Use this area to develop relationships with individuals. Offer information or advice on a specific topic.

Tip #4

You may not be the only person marketing that product or service on Craigslist. Many companies offering affiliate programs provide marketing tools like ads, banners, etc. If Craigslist determines that the same ads are being posted using the same images and subject lines the ad will not post.

Be creative! Think of some other ads you could use. You will need to think like your customer. The subject line: "How To Get Your Ads To Stick On Craigslist" may work better than "Craigslist Marketing". Also, it is important to change the domain name. You can obtain several low cost domain names from a number of services and use the forwarding feature to forward your affiliate website to your new domain name.

Tip #5 - Important Tip

The are several tools and resources to help you automate your ad posting process. Craigslist does not like when the same ad is posted in several cities; all coming from the same IP address. Posting multiple ads under the same IP address will get your ads banned and you will no longer be able to post. There are marketers who are able to post 300 or more ads every day using services to automate this process. They have found a way to get their ads to "stick".

In order to achieve the results you are looking for on Craigslist it is imperative that you implement the things listed above. Follow the tips above and traffic to your website and sales will increase.
